Why are some communities going away from the VI-SPDAT?

That's amazing!

PJ, I am sure each community has their own reasons for moving away from the VISPDAT as their main tool for prioritization, but here is what I found from King County: https://dchsblog.com/2019/11/26/how-we-use-data-to-combat-racial-inequality-in-homeless-housing/

That’s a good question, P.J., and a complex one. It really depends on the community. Some communities want to phrase questions in different ways or may want to collect similar information but at different stages. There has also been some empirical research done recently that has called into question whether it’s the best assessment for evaluating vulnerability.

Thank you Cameron! Please keep in mind, our CoC does not rely solely on the VISPDAT score. The factors involved related to a client's prioritization is their total length of time homeless, Access Point intake date, and VISPDAT score. We also use other factors through manual data analysis and case conferencing to connect the client to the appropriate housing intervention service through the coordinated entry system.

Lauren. Thank you for sharing that document! I’m so glad you found it :) For a little more info on that situation, you can read about it in the case study section of this blog: https://www.bitfocus.com/blog/copy-of-snaps-data-ta-strategy-2-erica-edits-0-0-0

Lauren. That’s brilliant and I’m glad to hear that. Clarity allows you to assign numerous scoring processors to a single assessment and weigh various factors according to community requirements. So Clarity will be able to easily accommodate those multiple steams of eligibility/vulnerability data :)

I have to change internet routers in about 15 minutes. If I disappear, can someone let me back in please?

Is there a delay between live data and report data?
Cameron Shorkey
01:11:30
Hey Brandon, nope. The data is all available in real time. With some reports, though, you’ll just have to click the refresh button :)

01:11:46
Ok, thank you.

That applies to all data and reporting in Clarity

Is there a place in the system to hold outreach clients, that we have not been able to engage?
Cheryl Clunk
01:31:37
Thank you P.J. for asking and Cameron for clarifying that question. It seems like many believe that the VI-SPDAT is the only game in town and must be so.
